We had weekend tickets for the festival that take place at Hillsborough Park, Sheffield over three days in July of each year.
For this weekend, we’ve assumed one gig per day counts towards our goal of 50.
Gig number 2 – Working Men’s Club and James at Tramlines Festival 2022, Sheffield. Friday July 22, 2022.
We arrived on site on Friday night in time to see two great bands – Working Men’s Club in the Leadmill tent – a relatively new band for us, exhibiting fabulous energy and charisma, and some fantastic tunes to boot.
We’ve seen James play live many times since the early 90’s; both at gigs and festivals, most recently at Kendal Calling in 2018. They never disappoint, and two moments stood out – when they decided to change their pre-planned setlist to go with the vibe of the crowd, and the moment when lead singer, Tim Booth (aged 62) showed other Tramlines performers how to crowd surf like an absolute boss (he’s pretty good at it – here’s another time he crowd surfed whilst still hitting the notes)!
Gig number 3 – Self Esteem and Bleach Lab at Tramlines Festival 2022, Sheffield. Saturday July 23, 2022.
Mike highlights from Saturday were Swim School and Bleach Lab, both in the Leadmill tent.

Saturday’s highlight (for Steph) was Self Esteem at T’Other Stage. Resplendent in Sheffield Wednesday kit (controversial, but then she was performing less than 1,000 metres from the Hillsborough ground, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯) she performed a stonking set, the crowd loved this Sheffield alumni!

Gig number 4 – Sports Team at Tramlines festival 2022, Sheffield. Sunday July 24, 2022.
After a record breaking heatwave in the UK earlier in the week, the weather turned to more typical temperatures and climate over the weekend, with drizzly rain setting in for most of Sunday. Sports Team played to a smaller crowd earlier on Sunday afternoon on the main stage, but the rain didn’t stop them belting out some fantastic tunes and the crowd loved them!
